Teams of students, along with staff/faculty partners, can apply to share work and stories with communities across the western United States to support local partners through community-identified projects over Fall and Spring Breaks. Costs per opportunity may vary based on location, break, and duration.
Residential engagement provides students the opportunity to live and learn in community engagement work while part of a cohort model while also living in the residence halls. Between the first year HIVE (High Impact Volunteer Engagement) to the Bennion Service House, students become prepared to become engaged citizens in their communities and discover their civic pathways. Application and selections are required to participate in these experiences.
Large scale events intended to support local community organizations through single-day direct engagement efforts on and off-campus. All are welcome to attend including students, staff, faculty, and community members.
One-time DIY projects students can pick up and return on their own time to meet a community identified need. Projects are available for pickup at the Bennion Center and Kahlert Village kiosk.
Utah Reads tutors work in local Title I elementary schools to support children’s literacy. Tutors must have work-study funding to work with Utah Reads.
