AmeriCorps
Through AmeriCorps, you can serve part-time to create meaningful impact and transform lives, including your own while earning an educational award that can offset eligible expenses. Position Based Scholarships
Position based scholarships are offered to students who engaged in specific leadership roles at the Bennion Center. These scholarships are offered in recognition of the additional administrative and programmatic responsibilities required of these positions and are renewable provided the student remains a student leader in good standing.
Barbara Tanner
The Barbara Tanner scholarship supports students who serve as part of the Alternative Breaks Eboard.
Equity in Access
The Equity in Access scholarship supports student engagement as Issue Area Coordinators in the Community Partner Program.
Helping Hands
The Helping Hands Scholarship Fund was created in honor of Irene Fisher, founding Director of the Bennion Center, and her legacy. Its purpose is to provide a “helping hand” to Bennion Center Student Leaders who are in need of financial support in order to fulfill their community engagement commitments. In order to be considered, you must be a current Bennion Center student leader who will be enrolled full-time in the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.
Thanks to the generosity of the named individuals and their families, students who participate in the Bennion Center’s Living Learning Communities in the Service Houses (Officers Circle 614 & 615) and High Impact Volunteer Experience (Kahlert Village) are eligible to apply for scholarships to offset their room & board expenses. The Hugh Pinnock Community Engaged Scholarship is for CEL program students who are completing their Capstone Project. Students are eligible to apply when they propose their Capstone Project, and only those with approved projects will be considered.
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their ability to internalize lessons learned during their time as a CEL program student, and to create goals for how they will impact the community for good in the years to come. Self-identified need will also be taken into consideration. Scholarship money can be used to assist students meet their tuition and other educational expenses as they are completing their academic studies.
