Meet the '24-'25 Alt Breaks Team!
Considering themselves perhaps the luckiest people in the world, the folx on the Alternative Breaks EBoard and Admin Team have the privilege of working with students, faculty, and staff across campus as they collaborate to create the transformative, justice-based community experiences that define the AB program. If you're looking to get involved with Alt Breaks or have questions about AB for credit, break discounts, or how to utilize tire chains in inclement weather conditions, these are the folx to call!

Hi all! My name is Ann and I'm the Program Manager for the best program on campus :) I earned a degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Utah.
I've worked abroad in Taiwan, China, & Ukraine and previously for the Hinckley Institute of Politics.
I love the outdoors and look for any reason to get out in Utah's gorgeous mountains. I'm excited to work with students passionate about changing the world and making a difference in their communities. I can't wait to learn from all of you!

Hi! My name is Helen and I am the Education and Training Co-coordinator! I'm a 4th year studying biochemistry with minors in sociology, environmental & sustainability, and health. I got involved in Alternative Breaks as a first-year and have continued with the program since. I have been able to gain life-changing and insightful experiences through AB and an understanding myself and justice journey. I am very excited to learn and grow with this community in helping others to create their own justice story. A fun fact about me is that I have the biggest soft spot for any sweet and fruity drinks!

Hello! My name is Annabelle, and I am an Education and Training Co-Coordinator this year! I am a 4th-year Biology student with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology and minors in Disability Studies and Chemistry. I love the Alternative Breaks Program and have been involved in it since my first-year here! I love engaging with other like-minded students and love all the things that we teach each other! Some fun facts about me is that I love any and all beverages, I have a puggle named Maggie and an Aussie Shepherd/Lab named Eleanor, and I know way too many random facts about pop culture. I look forward to meeting and un-learning with you!

My name is Abrianna Carter. I’m a junior majoring in Kinesiology, and plan on getting a doctorate in PT school. I was born and raised in Utah, however, after graduating high school, I craved a different scenery. Therefore, I am a transfer student from Barry University in Miami, Florida. I love eating, playing basketball, and spending time with my loved ones. I have the cutest Aussie dog with a mind of his own, his name is Ozzy. I’m the best gift giver, and can take on a challenge! Being able to be apart of an experience where we uplift and aid others is super exciting for me and I can’t wait to see what this year being on the Eboard brings!
