About Fall Weekend Experiences

About this Experience

On our weekend Alternative Break we will be dedicated to exploring and learning about animal advocacy and rehabilitation. Animals consistently show their ability to feel and experiencing everything from pain to joy and various other emotions. They are not just our companions but they are also essential guardians of our environment. It is crucial that we acknowledge their importance in our lives and make sure to honor, respect, and protect them.

Throughout our break, participants will be able to understand the root causes behind animal mistreatment, exploitation, harm and its impact on our world. We will also learn how to be more effective advocates for animals and understand ways to help give them a voice.

When we embrace animal advocacy, we're taking on the responsibility to protect and care for all creatures that feel, collectively liberating all beings.

Cost: $175.00

Dates: Morning of Friday, Oct. 3rd to Evening of Sunday, Oct. 5th

About this Experience

The Disability Advocacy Alternative Break will focus on understanding the world from the disabled community's perspective to help us learn how we, as individuals, can better support and advocate for the disabled community. We recognize that everyone feels the impact of disability differently so we will explore the nuances and complexity of multiple experiences. We recognize that the disabled community encompasses a wide range of disabilities, from mobility issues to neurodivergence. Because of this, we will engage with community partners who advocate for different areas of the disabled community as well as learn about the unique challenges people with various disabilities may face. We will also educate about the history of disability advocacy and disability law will help deepen our understanding of the disabled community.
