Utah Reads

The mission of the Utah Reads program at the University of Utah is to provide effective, quality tutoring in literacy to the elementary aged students of our community partners. In order to meet our mission, the Utah Reads program provides comprehensive tutor training in partnership with the University of Utah Reading Clinic (UURC), develops leadership skills, and fosters mutually beneficial community partnerships.

Federal work-study recipients work one-on-one with children at least twice a week to engage in enjoyable reading activities. Tutors help children feel successful by providing positive feedback and support. By joining the Utah Reads program, you will have a meaningful and fun experience as you gain skills and knowledge necessary for a future career. Join Utah Reads today and become the positive role model children need!
