Apply to live at the Bennion Service House

Each year twelve students who are driven to make significant service contributions to The University of Utah and the community are selected to reside in the Bennion Service House on historic Officers Circle. Residents gain unique opportunities to examine their own civic engagement in a living and learning community, while engaging in and promoting various community engagement experiences throughout the year. Residents seek ways to serve as catalysts for the Bennion Center’s mission of inspiring and mobilizing people to strengthen communities through learning, scholarship, and advocacy.

Bennion Service House residents work together to foster community and lifelong civic engagement among students living in the residence halls through action, dialogue, education, and outreach. The Service House residents promote an environment of support, respect, friendship, diversity, and learning within the Service House and the greater community—Written by the Residents of the Service House in its 1st year, February 2005

Each resident is responsible for maintaining a personal attitude that fosters an atmosphere of community building.
