20th Annual Legacy of Lowell Saturday Service Project

Saturday, September 16th, 2023 | 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM

REgister to participate in legacy of lowell

 

Registration is required for all projects

  • There are a limited number of spots available for each project - first come, first served
  • Unless otherwise indicated on the project description, all projects will take place from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
  • Transportation is NOT provided to the projects
  • If you are participating with a group, everyone must sign up individually
  • Some projects may require volunteers to wear face masks
  • If you feel ill or have symptoms you will be asked to stay home
  • If you register and aren't able to attend, please email brett.gaffney@utah.edu

STEP 1: Choose your Volunteer Project

Edible Campus Gardens

Location: 1635 E Campus Center Dr
Volunteer Spots: 35 total
Description: Harvesting, weeding, and other gardening tasks.


Feed U Pantry

Location: Union Building Basement
Volunteer Spots: 15 total
Description: Assemble meals and help clean.


Service Corner

Location: hosted by SLC Alumni Chapter- 155 S Central Campus Dr
Volunteer Spots: 15 total
Description:  Knit hats/scarves and make birthday cards.

Tree Utah

Location: TBD
Volunteer Spots: 75 total
Description: Plant trees.


Green Urban Lunchbox

Location: 210 E Twin Peaks Street, Midvale, UT 84047
Volunteer Spots: 20 total
Description: Prepare a garden for spring planting. The tasks will include removing old vegetation, weeding, mixing in soil amendments and/or compost, using hand tools to aerate the soil, repairing drip irrigation, and sowing seeds of spring crops.


Crossroads Urban Center

Location: 155 N Canyon Rd
Volunteer Spots: 20 total
Description: Volunteers will be painting and cleaning


Guadalupe School

Location: 1388 S 1100 W
Volunteer Spots: 30 total
Description: Volunteers will help with grounds maintenance


Neighbor Works

Location: 622 W 500 N- from here you will receive house assignments
Volunteer Spots: 25 total
Description: Volunteers will rake leaves in community's yards


Red Cross

Location: TBD
Volunteer Spots: 40 total
Description: Volunteers will assist with smoke detector installation and fire safety education


Ronald McDonald House

Location: 935 E S Temple St
Volunteer Spots: 10 total
Description: Volunteers will help clean and sanitze house and shuttles


The Children's Center

Location: 3725 W 4100 S
Volunteer Spots: 15 total
Description: Volunteers will help organization settle into their new building


The Sharing Place

Location: 1695 E 3300 S
Volunteer Spots: 20 total
Description: Volunteers will clean up yards and assemble craft kits


Utah Food Bank

Location: 3150 S 900 W
Volunteer Spots: 50 total
Description: Volunteers will sort and pack donated food or build food boxes for seniors


VOA Youth Resource Center

Location: 888 S 400 W
Volunteer Spots: 10 total
Description: Volunteers will clean and organize resources


Wasatch Community Gardens

Location: 629 E 800 S
Volunteer Spots: 15 total
Description: Volunteers will be working on garden cleanup


YWCA

Location: 322 E 300 S
Volunteer Spots: 20 total
Description: Volunteers organize donations

 

Step 2: Register for Your Preferred Project

  • If the project does not appear on the registration form, all spots have been filled
  • After you register, you'll be contacted with additional instructions in the 2 weeks leading up to the event
